Meditation Week Cork

Updated

Meditation Week, 14 – 20 October

A unique week of meditation with special Guest, Jogyata Dallas from New Zealand. Jogyata has been offering meditation classes in New Zealand and around the world since 1980. He has also written several books on the subject. He draws upon personal experience and Sri Chinmoy’s inspirational teachings to help those searching for a life of deeper meaning.

Four-Evening Course

The course covers the ABCs of meditation – breathing and concentration techniques to remove stress and calm the mind; uses creative visualisations and mantric chants, meditation in the spiritual heart centre; helps you to set up your own personal meditation programme. Discover practical and inspiring techniques that you will be able to incorporate into your day-to-day activities.

Meditation, Music and Mantra Singing

Welcome to an evening of guided meditations, mantric chants and music to expand the Heart. The program will feature peaceful, uplifting compositions drawn from the vast musical legacy of the late Indian spiritual master Sri Chinmoy, interspersed with simple meditation techniques to quieten the mind.

Our performers this evening will play simple melodies on harmonium and guitar, bringing to their music the understanding that music has the power to positively change and enrich our world. Spiritual music leads us back to stillness, to the inner spaces, talks to us in the language of the heart – in this light tonight’s program is inter-active, inviting you to also experience guided meditation and to try some of the simple mantric chants.

Two-Day Workshop

What are the deeper goals that lie beneath our lives? Lasting happiness and peace are the universals we all share. Meditation is the fast track, the time of awakening, the longing to find your peaceful inner space. Our upcoming free weekend sessions offer the methods, knowledge and inspiration you’ll need to explore the many paths of meditation – you only need the sincerity to try and the determination to practice.
Our course instructor has had many years of personal experience to share with you, and each of the structured afternoon sessions will cover a range of techniques and essential meditation secrets. You’ll also enjoy the company of like-minded people who, like yourself, are seeking the inner treasures that our spiritual life always brings.

Suitable for both beginners and ongoing practitioners, topics will include breathing and concentration techniques to remove stress and calm the mind; the use of creative visualisations and mantric chants; meditation in the spiritual heart centre; how to set up your own personal meditation program; and a look at the four pillars of yoga. There will also be ample opportunity to ask questions in this informal setting at the Maldron Hotel.

All events are free. Offered by the Sri Chinmoy Centre as a contribution to a more peaceful world.
